About This

• Grows up to 3-6 in. tall AND 1-5 ft. wide
• Performs best in full sun to part shade. It can be anchored in pots of soil or pea gravel at the ponds' edge, with some water over the crowns and with stems extending out into the water, but it is usually floated on the water. Soil pH: Acid, Alkaline, Neutral
• This plant is cultivated as a vegetable in southeast Asia (leaves and shoots have cabbage-like flavor). Young ends of stems and pods are edible and usually eaten raw as a vegetable in Thailand and Cambodia and cultivated much like rice. The young leaves, shoot tips and young pods are usually eaten raw or in stir-fries and curries such as kaeng som.
